Staropoli has Strong Runner-Up Finish at Showtime Speedway


St. Petersburg, FL – The Star Racing team ventured to Showtime Speedway for their 50-lap season finale on November 5th. After fighting the handling earlier in the day, the Star Racing team found some speed and were able to qualify the #97 late model in 3rd.

With the invert, Staropoli started in 5th and was involved in a multi-lap battle that saw him complete a three wide pass in the middle to secure 3rd place. He then set sail, moving into second place at approximately the halfway mark of the event. The remainder of the race went caution-free, and despite reeling in the leader to almost 5 car-lengths from over a straightaway back, time was not on Staropoli’s side, and he ultimately crossed the finish line P2.

Staropoli Claims Top-5 in Sunoco 100


Auburndale, FL – Patrick Staropoli and the Star Racing team ventured to Auburndale Speedway for the Sunoco 100 on October 23rd. After qualifying 8th, Staropoli started on the pole after a lucky fan selected the #1 position for the 97 Chevy in the pre-race redraw. 

Staropoli led the first 23 laps before being passed for the lead, and contact while battling for 3rd place relegated him to the rear of the field on lap 32. The #97 came to the pits under caution for some key adjustments and Staropoli was then able to storm back through the field for a strong 5th place finish. 

The next race for the Star Racing team will be November 5th at Showtime Speedway.
